The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for CAPFs and Assam Rifles is a financial aid program launched by the Government of India to support the education of dependent children of personnel who have died or been disabled in the line of duty.   • Monthly scholarship amount of Rs. 3,000 for girls and Rs. 2,500 for boys.
  • Tuition fee reimbursement up to Rs. 2 lakh per annum.
  • Book allowance of Rs. 600 per annum.
  • Hostel allowance of Rs. 1,200 per month.

Number of Scholarships:

  • A total of 2,000 scholarships are awarded annually, 1,000 each for boys and girls.
  • This includes both fresh and renewal cases.

Application Process:

  • Applications are invited online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP): https://scholarships.gov.in/.
  • The application window usually opens in December and closes in January or February.

Selection Process:

  • Selection is based on merit and income criteria.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview.

  • Proof of being a ward of a CAPF/Assam Rifles personnel who has died or been disabled in the line of duty or a retired personnel with 20 years of service.
  • Income certificate.
